Year: 2025 A Limping Cabinet is part of an ongoing series that reflects my journey with craftsmanship and imperfection. Growing up, I was often told that I was not suited to be a craftsman because of my clumsiness and carelessness. These doubts followed me into my making process, where the pressure of precision in fine woodworking often led to struggle and anxiety.

This cabinet embraces those moments of failure rather than hiding them. One leg is intentionally uneven, giving the piece a limping posture, while the middle shelf remains perfectly parallel, creating a visual trick that challenges expectations of balance and correctness. The contrast between instability and control reflects my own relationship with making: a constant negotiation between mistakes and intention. Through this piece, I choose to accept errors as part of the process, allowing them to shape the form. A Limping Cabinet becomes an act of self-reconciliation, transforming imperfection into a source of clarity and creative strength.
